Job summary

The Deputy Chief Medical Officers support the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Midwifery and Nursing Officer to deliver high quality care by providing senior leadership capability and capacity, deputising for the whole scope of responsibilities for the Chief Medical Officer and some Trust wide roles. In addition, the Deputy Chief Medical Officers hold a professional portfolio of responsibilities as delegated by the Chief Medical Officer.

Effective deputisation for CMO portfolios with overall trust wide (rather than site specific) leadership and with specific portfolios responsibilities across the trust.

More effective working with other Chief Officers' structures

Effective development of the DCMOs by providing opportunity to develop knowledge and experience of CMO portfolios across the organisation

More effective engagement with system partners and external partners such as ICB, NHSE etc

The new roles will be covering a specific, wide ranging portfolio of responsibilities as follows:

Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Clinical Effectiveness

Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Professional Standards and Development

Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Partnerships and Transformation

Please specify in your application which post you wish to be considered for.
