Job summary
To participate in all nursing related clinic, invasive and non-invasive procedures Fertility activities within theBWFC adhering to Trust policies and procedures, HFEA Code of Practice and NMC Codes of Conduct
Main duties of the job
To have responsibility for a specific area of activity as allocated by the Senior Nurse, and to take the lead in development of that specific service element.To work independently after training in nurse led clinics to monitor and assess the progress of treatments.To work within the theatre and recovery area, taking responsibility for that area as appropriate. To admit and discharge patients according to set protocols, assist medical staff with performing minor operative procedures, provide pre and post operative care to patients undergoing general anaesthetic.To perform ultrasound scanning to monitor treatment cycles and assess early pregnancies.To interpret ultrasound scans, blood results and clinical histories.To participate in the provision of a phlebotomy service.To ensure patients are fully prepared for treatment. Checking all appropriate preliminary investigations are completed, and that all patients give informed consent, following the provision of detailed comprehensive information.
