This is a full time fixed term post for 12 months in Inpatient CAMHS
We have an excellent opportunity for a Junior Clinical Fellow to join our Inpatient Mental Health Service based at Parkview Clinic in Moseley, Birmingham to work collaboratively with a professional, highly skilled multi-disciplinary team. The suitable applicant will be involved in the assessment and diagnosis of psychiatric aspects of children's presentation and in delivering psychiatric treatment where appropriate within an overall management package and provide medical support to the medical team and the wider Mental Health team Working collaboratively with colleagues to further develop and improve the service
The Tier 4 Inpatient CAMHs Service forms part of the Mental Health Service Division at Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital NHS Trust. The Trust also hosts the West Midlands Provider Collaborative who are working with us to develop our Tier 4 services. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving services we have a brand new state of the art 14 bedded GAU and have recently completed a refurbishment of our 8 bedded unit. We also provide a 12 bedded Specialist Eating Disorder unit.
Main duties of the job
Contributing to the assessment, formulation and development of treatment plans for young people with mental health problems admitted to Parkview.
Being involved in the assessment and diagnosis of psychiatric aspects of children and young peoples' presentation and in delivering psychiatric treatment where appropriate within overall management packages
Attending weekly MDT meetings
Attending CPA meetings
Contributing to liaison and communication with families and other involved agencies.
Contributing to referrals as appropriate.

- Undertake medical duties when required on the Inpatient wards
- Perform duties in the occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in consultation, where practicable, with the doctor's colleagues both senior and junior.
The post holder would be expected to work flexibly with other medical staff within the teams.
The post holder would be expected to cover the Inpatient Service from 9.00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS & CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Medical Degree from a recognised University
- At least one year in psychiatry, with experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,
- A minimum of 2 years full time post graduate training (its equivalent gained on a part time basis) or equivalent experience and competencies.
Desirable
- Other Educational Qualification (ALS/APLS/ATLS)
ELIGIBILITY

- Full GMC registration
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK or eligible to be considered for a certificate of sponsorship
