Job summary

This is a permanent part-time post (17.5 hours) giving individuals an opportunity for personal development and for those who relish a challenge, keen to learn new skills within a busy complex environment, whilst working within multi-skilled teams. A flexible working approach is essential as the Patient Admin Services Team provides 24/7 services. Applicants must therefore be flexible to cover shifts and bank holidays, including Christmas day.

Week 1 - Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 17:00 - 22:00

Week 2 - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday: 17:00 - 22:00

You must enjoy working within a multi-disciplinary team, committed to working in a team driven environment and have the ability to relate to children, parents and members of the public, with an enthusiastic and conscientious approach, complemented by excellent organizational and communication skills and able to work under pressure. You must be professional at all times.

Applicants must also be willing and available to work outside of their shift pattern initially for training purposes.

Main duties of the job

This post will predominantly be based in the Emergency Department, providing reception duties outlined in the job description. You will be the first person the patient/guardians/carers meet in the Emergency Department and the main duty will be to accurately register the patients on the patient administration systems as they arrive. You will also be providing an administrative and clerical service for Emergency Department services (ensuring accurate patient information is collected for patient activity) and other areas within Patient Admin Services.
