Job summary
Birmingham Women's & Children's NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a Consultant Medical Practitioner with an interest and enthusiasm for improving the delivery of postgraduate medical education and continued professional development to lead and manage postgraduate medical education.
Main duties of the job
The PGCT is responsible, on behalf of the Trust, for delivering the educational contract, previously agreed with the Postgraduate Dean, for all the disciplines undertaking training with the Trust.
This is a fixed term 3 year tenureship, subject to satisfactory appraisal and review by the Regional Postgraduate Dean and the Trust's Chief Medical Officer and can be extended for additional three years. The duties of the PGCT will occupy 1 Programmed Activity, this is a 'protected session' that will be explicit in the Job Plan for the appointee and will be subject to review at annual appraisal.

Ensure that the educational climate in the Trust is supportive, accreditation of all educational supervisors
Must be an active member and attend Clinical Tutor's Committee meetings & annual Away Days
Ensure NHSE are aware of important educational issues or challenges at the Trust which may affect training.
Ensure good standing is maintained in respect to CPD within the relevant College
Link with other educational leaders and health professionals to develop multi-professional teaching & learning
Maintain regular involvement as a Trainer on Training the trainers courses held locally and elsewhere within the West Midlands
