Job summary

To undertake a wide range of administrational duties and the provision of general support to the Radiology admin team.

The post is based within the Radiology Department at Birmingham Children's Hospital. There is the potential that multi-site working is required at Birmingham Women's Hospital within the Radiology Department.

The post holder will work directly with the Radiology Admin team, assisting as required. The recruited person will also provide cover during annual or sick leave and will assist with workload if required.

Main duties of the job

To become fully conversant with the Radiology computer system.

To answer any telephone queries from patients, other hospitals, G.P.s, other departments within the hospital or re-direct them on to the relevant person or take messages as appropriate.

To support the booking team in booking appointments accurately using IT systems in line with urgent requests, departmental waiting list, adhering to the Trust's current waiting times and protocols. Ensure SOPs are always followed.

To assist the IR team with their booking processes.

To provide reception cover during absences of other reception staff.

Sending text messages to patients regarding appointments / cancellatons.

Calling patients if lists are to be cancelled at short notice.

To undertake scanning of documents, filing in correct folders.

Ensure adequate stationery supplies are maintained.

To organise clinical radiology meetings when necessary (i.e. book rooms, print reports, checking imaging on PACs and advise medical staff if meeting is cancelled, completing MDT outcome notes.

To assist with any other administrative duties the team require
