Job summary
BWCH are looking for a Consultant Medical Practitioner with an interest and enthusiasm for improving the delivery of postgraduate medical education and continued professional development to lead and manage postgraduate medical education.
The PGCT is responsible, on behalf of the Trust, for delivering the educational contract, previously agreed with the Postgraduate Dean, for all the disciplines undertaking training with the Trust.
This is a fixed term 3 year tenureship, subject to satisfactory appraisal and review by the Regional Postgraduate Dean and the Trust's Chief Medical Officer and can be extended for additional three years. The duties of the PGCT will occupy 2 Programmed Activities, these are 'protected sessions' that will be explicit in the Job Plan for the appointee and will be subject to review at annual appraisal.

Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the Trust achieving defined standards of postgraduate medical education.
- To work with his/her colleagues to produce, implement and monitor a strategy for the provision of postgraduate medical education and training.
- To align medical training and education with the service objectives as defined by Trust Board.
- To represent the Trust on medical education issues, both externally and internally.
