This is an exciting opportunity for a post which will join the palliative care team at BWCH serve children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the West Midlands area.
About the post: This is a fixed term opportunity of 24 months. This post is designed as a 5 PA post and will need flexibility depending on clinical need. The post is funded directly from charitable sources thanks to the collaboration between the NHS Foundation Trust and Molly Olly's Wishes Charity.
In BWCH, the successful candidate will deliver paediatric palliative medicine to the increasing numbers of children with life-limiting conditions cared for by the wide variety of specialist teams delivering secondary, tertiary and quaternary services. The post-holder will work with the existing Consultants in Paediatric Palliative Medicine and the team of Palliative and Bereavement care nurses delivering palliative care within BWCH to children with malignant and non-malignant diagnoses. The post will include the need to deliver palliative reviews in the community across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, supporting local healthcare teams. The appointee will help provide leadership in the provision of specialist paediatric palliative care across the region.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining Specialist Registration at the time of interview. The proposed date for interview is 22 July 2025 with a potential start date of 3 Sept 2025.
