Job summary
An opportunity has arisen in the ADHD Team for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Non-Medical Nurse Prescriber (NMP) based at Finch Road Primary Care Centre working city wide.
You will be an autonomous prescriber providing treatment to young people with ADHD. You will support the education and development of other staff in medicines management and evidence-based use of medicines.
We will consider applications from band 6 registered mental health Nurses with a minimum of five years band 6 experience with substantial experience in ADHD . In this circumstance the post would be a developmental role. You will work towards achieving the independent prescribing course v300 to become Registered as a Non-Medical Prescriber with NMC.
Main duties of the job
To be an active leader and part of the multi disciplinary team within the ADHD Team and take a lead in patients care on the caseload.
To undertake a full holistic assessment liaising and referring to other agencies and professionals as necessary. Undertake reviews of medicines and promote patient choice and effective outcomes.
To facilitate and / or provide health promotion and education.
To provide expert clinical advice and work collaboratively with other health professionals and agencies within the directorate.
To develop and maintain advanced clinical skills.
To independently prescribe medication within a defined scope of practice.
