Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric ENT Surgery

Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric ENT for a duration of 12 months, commencing October 2025. The post is aimed at those who have completed higher surgical training and wish to develop a special interest in paediatric ENT Surgery.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have a strong interest in Paediatric ENT Surgery and be at CCT level or equivalent. The post holder will be performing general paediatric ENT surgery while developing a subspecialist expertise under the direction of the nominated clinical consultant supervisors. A model job plan can be found in the attached job description, but BWCFT would expect the successful candidate to be flexible with their working commitments to a total of 10 programmed activities per week.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the multi-disciplinary teaching and research programme for ENT surgery at BCHFT. This includes participating in the teaching programme for ENT surgery trainees and teaching medical students from Birmingham University Medical School who periodically attend the department.

The post-holder would be required to carry out audit and when appropriate, take a guiding role for the junior registrars in the audit activities of the department at BCH.

The appointee will participate in a daytime on-call rota for ENT surgery emergencies and will be required to cover out of hours duties on one fixed night per week for the Children's Hospital only.
