Job summary

In order to understand how we perform against this definition of quality at BWC we want to ultimately create a clinical outcomes model that is built on the following key principles:
- Robust clinical outcome measures identified in each specialty
- Consistent and accurate data collection against these measures
- Robust analysis of outcomes data
- Availability of specialties' outcomes on the intranet for greater internal visibility
- Publication of outcomes to theTrust websitefor public visibilityto empower thewomen,childrenand families we care for.
- Benchmarking of outcomes, nationally and internationally, with other centres of excellence
We will develop this model in a phased approach. This post/s offers an exciting opportunity to set a proof-of-concept model which will then enable development of business as normal infrastructure to measure clinical outcomes at BWC.
Main duties of the job
The postholder/s will provide leadership to an already established phased programme led by the Chief Medical Officer. Depending on the time that the successful candidate/s are available to offer, there will be either one post with 2PAs or 2 posts with one PA each. This will be initially for a fixed term of 1 year.
The Associate Chief Medical Officer for Clinical Outcomes post job description is as below with a summary of objectives with the personal specification.
Objectives:
- Phase 1: Set up clinical outcomes' dashboards (board, division and specialty) for specialised commissioned services and pathways where holistic clinical outcomes are available
- Phase 2: Provide clinical expertise in supporting specialities identified in phase 2 to develop and measure clinical outcomes
- . Development of generic Patient Reported Outcomes Measures (PROM) across high volume pathways and specific PROM across speciality pathways identified within the pilot project
- Contribute to development of strategy and business case for Clinical Intelligence Unit as Business as Normal Infrastructure to deliver the (Improvement, Innovation, Investigation and Information) programme
