Job summary
The post-holder will take a key role in supporting Mental Health Mission research projects at BWC and partnership trust. The post holder will be a pivotal member of the research team, and will manage all aspects of research with guidance from the R&D FTB Mental Health Lead Co-ordinator, Chief investigators and Principal Investigators/research team as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The individual is expected to motivate staff to provide high standards of care by acting as a role model, providing specialist clinical and research advice and management responsibility for the R&D FTB team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust and other neighboring trusts for patient identification and or additional recruitment support. The post holder will have charge of their own portfolio of research projects which will involve primary responsibility for identification, recruitment, consent, and providing support to potential and recruited patients and their families, and ensure Good Clinical Practice in all aspects of their work.
The post will involve potential travel across the Trust, mental health hubs and patient's homes as and where required. There may on occasion sometimes be a requirement for you to work further afield. Clinical aspects of the role will include phlebotomy, preparation of blood specimens, drug administration and clinical observation.

KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

- Two years post registration/primary qualification experience including within speciality
- Recent research experience in a relent clinical setting, preferably in a multi-centre clinical trial or similar large study

- Knowledge and understanding of research governance regulations and guidance and associated good clinical practice
