Practice Development Lead Radiographer (Practice Educator)

Job summary

As a Practice Development Lead Radiographer, you will be working as a Practice Educator predominantly as part of the General Imaging teams on both Women's and Children's Hospital sites.

To work with Lead Radiographers to develop and support an ongoing program of learning across all grades within the whole Radiology Department. To develop the existing Preceptorship program, working with the wider AHP network to ensure compliance with AHP learning and development pillars, and best practice.

To work with Lead Radiographers to provide a comprehensive induction, training, and support plan to enable Band 5 Radiographers to successfully complete their preceptorship programme. To provide clinical supervision for B5's and B6's to develop peer support and action learning sets to develop core excellence.

Effective communication to promote/strengthen development opportunities across Modalities, respecting wider pathways/training opportunities within the department.

This role will also be responsible for developing practice for Apprentice Radiographers.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Education and Learning Team, clinical colleagues, Universities, and other key stakeholders to facilitate the education, training and learning opportunities of all staff in radiology, to maximize recruitment and retention of Radiographers and support staff and in doing so optimize quality of patient care provided.
