We are recruiting a new team to work on our exciting new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme.

Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is bringing in a new Electronic Patient Record. This is major transformation programme that will affect almost all Trust employees, supporting them to provide better quality care for our patients and families.

We are currently recruiting for a EPR Application Project Manager (B8a) for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital.

This role is also available as a secondment to existing NHS Staff. Please contact the recruitment manager for more information.

The EPR will be a big change for all our patient-facing teams, so we are looking for people with the energy, passion and resilience to manage the complexities and high risks involved to help us deliver this critical programme of work.

Main duties of the job

This is a team management role within the EPR Programme Implementation Team.

The Application Project Manager will lead and co-ordinate the work of the application analysts for a group of modules. They will work with the other application module leads to ensure a consistent approach to the configuration and integration between all Epic modules is taken.

This will involve providing guidance, ensuring compliance around information standards and quality across the configuration teams and to the wider EPR Programme.

They will work in a complex multi-disciplinary environment and need to be able to act with minimum guidelines whilst setting standards for others. They will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing priorities.

The Application Project Manager will use expert programme knowledge to support and guide the team in making appropriate decisions when working with stakeholders to configure best practice workflows and designing EPR configuration to ensure data and workflows align with reporting and clinical audit requirements. This will involve the module teams working closely alongside clinical and operational colleagues throughout the duration of the programme.

The Applications Project manager will represent the module team providing assurance and guidance around their areas of responsibility at management and stakeholder meetings. They will always act as an ambassador for the BWCH EPR programme.

  • Significant experience of successful delivery of multiple projects in a complex environment, planning and organising a broad range of complex activities that require the formulation and adjustment of plans and strategies.
  • Detailed understanding of robust project governance and management principles
  • Experience leading & managing staff of diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Substantial experience of complex stakeholder management
