Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to lead the Clinical Education offer in mental health services within our Birmingham Children and Womens NHS Foundation Trust. Our Trust has led the way in developing a unique youth mental health service, Forward Thinking Birmingham, that is focussed on the needs of people aged 0-25 and their families/carers. This is an excellent time to join our service as we are expanding our clinical education team and you will be at the forefront of it leading on some key initiatives which will include a new care planning process for teams, development of international nurses and supporting new to care support staff.

You will work with an established team that include Heads of Nurses, Clinical Leads, Lead Nurses and partner organisations. You will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate high-quality education and training is available as an integral part of our mental health service. You will also be responsible for providing educational leadership across the service, acting as a source of expertise, advice, and knowledge for healthcare professionals and be a key link to the education team in the wider Children's and Women's Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside the Lead Nurses and Clinical Leads as part of a multi-disciplinary leadership team to lead the strategic and operational development of a coherent and effective education strategy, and coordination of a programme of work that addresses national and local priorities. The role will support the Mental Health Leadership Team in driving improvement of services through a quality education strategy as well as ensuring value for money in planning, commissioning, and service developments.
