Gynaecology Ward 7/8 Ward Clerk Permanent post 37.5 hours a week We are looking for a motivated and compassionate ward clerk to join our team within the Gynaecology inpatient ward 7/8 area here at Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital. This opportunity will expose you to a breadth of experience in a busy Gynaecology ward. You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is well organised and has excellent communication skills. You will be flexible and used to working under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will be an effective team player with a flexible approach who can plan and organise their workload, prioritising as required. Main duties of the job
Act as first point of contact with patients, the public and professionals. Present a pleasant and professional image at all times.
Arrange follow up appointments for outpatients.
Request and obtain patient notes.
File and retrieve notes from the medical records library.
Take mail to the post room.
Undertake photocopying duties as necessary.
Undertake training as required to maintain competency and comply with Trust policy.
Participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed set objectives.
Comply with Health and Safety policies with particular regard to the rules and procedures carried out in the event of fire or other emergencies.
Comply with all policies, procedures and guidelines as laid down by the Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Trust.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required, which are commensurate with the grade and nature of the post, to meet the needs of the service. This will include cover of appropriate duties during the absences of colleagues.
