Job summary
This is a full time post which offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated clinician to join our existing team of Paediatric Haematology Consultants.
The post will cover stem cell transplant and one other subspeciality area including benign haematology, bone marrow failure or leukaemia. We are looking to attract either a Paediatric Haematologist or a Paediatrician who has the relevant training in Paediatric Haematology.
Evidence of management skills
Applicants will be expected to hold their CCT or be within 6 months of award of CCT in Haematology or General Paediatrics (or equivalent) by the time of interview. The applicant must have the relevant training in Paediatric Haematology and Stem Cell Transplantation.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of dedicated medical team of 8 Consultants (including this post), 10 Haematology Specialist Registrars/Clinical fellows and 3 ST2/3's. There are also 6 trained/in training Advanced Nurse Practitioners in our department.
As one of the UK's largest Paediatric Haematology departments we see a broad case-mix of both malignant and non-malignant disease and we oversee active clinical programmes in all areas of Haematology including Stem Cell Transplantation, Haemoglobinopathy, Haemostasis/Thrombosis and Haemato-Oncology.
