Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Birmingham Women's to join the Maternity Infant Feeding Team to deliver Infant Feeding support across Maternity and the Trust's BFI accreditation.
The role will mainly be supporting families at Birmingham Women's but will also include assisting the Infant Feeding Team with audit, training and parent education.
The applicant must be passionate about breastfeeding and supporting new parent/s to achieve their feeding goals. They must have experience in supporting infant feeding and a recognised qualification in breastfeeding support such as BfN, NCT, peer support, BFI training (in trust or directly with BFI) or extensive experience with supporting infant feeding.
Hours will include Monday to Friday 12.00-20.00 and/or Saturday and Sundays 07.15-20.15. Full / part time hours available.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, predominantly on the Postnatal Wards at Birmingham Women's Hospital, the post holder will work alongside other staff to provide additional feeding support to mothers and babies to help them achieve their feeding goals. The role also includes supporting the Infant Feeding Team to maintain Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) accreditation, participating in conducting audit and other tasks as directed by the Infant Feeding Lead.
