Job summary

Use a variety of clinical, interpersonal, project management and educational skills to support the delivery of improved patient care and outcomes:

  • Support the delivery of a learning focused framework developed by the Trust. Including the dissemination of learning through a variety of different forums.
  • Support on the delivery of the learning needs into the directorates' quality and performance management processes.
  • Lead and provide support, training and information to all staff groups in relation to patient safety and will lead the training and support the evaluation of mental health education against an identified patient safety framework.
  • Act as a mental health expert, visionary, role model and deliver the education and learning for all staff relating to mental health.
  • Champion current trends and developments in mental health education.
  • Organise and deliver mental health training programmes in collaboration with the mental health Clinical Nurse Lead and specialist nurse. Provide support and supervision for practitioners in mental health to maximise learning opportunities and ensure that staff have the knowledge, skills and values to deliver high quality evidence based care.
  • Liaise with HEI's Ward/Department Managers and Professional Clinical staff to ensure that the clinical education, development and advancement of the professional workforce needs are identified and addressed using approved, proven and credible methods
  • Provide face to face care to patients

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the planning, delivering and evaluating mental health training across the BC site. This will include scoping existing knowledge and skill.

The post holder will be fundamental to advising and supporting all staff delivering care to patients with mental health conditions across the site.

Provide specialist mental health care advice to the MDT and non-specialist staff

Liaise with outside agencies to ensure safe care delivery

Liaise with outside agencies to facilitate safe discharge.

Be responsible for data entry and analysing of trends and produce reports.

Provide face to face patient care
