RESEARCH MIDWIFE

AfC Band 6
Salary Scale £35,392 to £42,618 per annum
Hours: 30 hours a week
An opportunity has arisen with the Research & Development Department for a Research Midwife on a fixed term contract for 12 months.
The post holder will be responsible for maximising recruitment into studies within the Trust. This will include developing recruitment strategies, monitoring rates of recruitment, performance of procedures and ensuring complete follow up study documentation of research studies within the Birmingham Women's Hospital. The maternity research team has grown over the last few years to match our expanding portfolio of clinical trials.
The post holder will ensure that any research undertaken safeguards the well being of research participants and is conducted to Good Clinical Practice and in compliance to the respective research protocol and UK/EU law.
Main duties of the job
The post holder duties will include screening for potential trial participants, discussing clinical trials with them, consenting and if relevant randomisation. There will be follow up appointments, data collection and queries to resolve. The post holder will be involved in the study set up process and close out visits as well as hosting external study team visits.
