Job summary
The post holder will work as a member of the Resuscitation Team and will assist with creating, strengthening and promoting education, learning and development across BWC. As well as promoting an organisational culture of patient safety, providing a visible presence that focuses high quality care standards, preventing avoidable harm by delivering training based on evidence to support the development of a positive and safe culture.
The post holder will use a variety of clinical, interpersonal and educational skills to support the delivery of improved patient care and outcomes. In particular:
- The post holder will maintain the delivery of a learning focused framework developed by the Trust.
- The post holder will provide support, training and information to staff in relation to patient care and safety and will assist with the evaluation of team safety cultures against an identified patient safety framework.
- Act as a clinical expert, visionary and role model, delivering education and clinical support during resuscitation events
- Champion current trends and developments in resuscitation and patient safety education.
- Contribute to the delivery of Resuscitation Programmes in collaboration with the Resuscitation Lead
- Providing support in clinical areas to maximise learning opportunities and ensure that staff have the knowledge, skills and values to deliver high quality evidence based care.
Main duties of the job
- Use of a blended learning approach to ensure maximum benefit from learning opportunities.
- Utilise effective methods of assessment, evaluation and impact of competence in clinical and patient safety education.
- Maximise the opportunity for inter-professional and inter-disciplinary working to enhance trust-wide resuscitation education.
- Ensure that all resuscitation education is planned and delivered around a central framework that meets operational and workforce plans
- Ensure a skilled clinical workforce exists equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for the delivery of high quality patient care, aligned to learning from incidents in practice.
- Working clinically the post holder will support healthcare practitioners to develop appropriate clinical/patient safety knowledge and skills, with achievement of competencies.
