Qualifications

Essential

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent theoretical knowledge
• Research specific additional training at post graduate diploma or equivalent level
• Good Clinical Practice

Desirable

• Professional registration to appropriate body if a Nurse, Midwife, Clinical Scientist, Allied Health Professional, Health and Care Professionals Council, British Psychology Society, Registered Clinical Research Practitioner,

• Effective communication with a MDT
• Ability to communicate in difficult situation and able resolve conflict

Other Requirments

Essential

• Willingness and ability to learn new skills as required for study portfolio e.g. phlebotomy, ECG
• Appropriate skill set for registration if applicable
• Engagement in additional training as required for role
• Likely to have contact with patient samples for collection, processing and transport e.g. blood and urine
• Direct patient contact with children, young people, families, will be required in role

Knowledge and Nature of Experience

Essential

• Experience of working within healthcare or research in an NHS or University Institution
• Experience in a patient facing role
• Experience working within registered professional domain (if applicable)
• Research delivery experience in an NHS or University Institution
• Experience of data collection and maintenance
• Understanding of UK Research Governance, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research

Desirable

• Experience of report writing

Analytical and Judgement Skills

Essential

• Able to work within own limitations and recognize need to seek support from PI, Nursing, Clinical Teams when required
• Able to work autonomously, prioritise and manage own time and workload to meet deadlines

Professional/Specialist Knowledge

Essential

• Ability to use elements of Microsoft Packages including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Publisher
• Ability to use variety of Trust and research IT programs such as EDGE, databases, ICE, PEPR
• Experience working within a multidiscipline team
• Ability to support development of local research policy, e.g. SOPs, training packages and working practice documents
• Ability to work under pressure of external parties such as Sponsors, to meet tight deadlines
• Compassionate individual, able to deliver holistic care to child, young person and family
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Able to organize large meetings, take minutes, prepare papers and liaise with large number of individuals across disciplines
