Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our dynamic and diverse organisation for a highly experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist to lead the Health in Mind service situated within Birmingham Children's Hospital. We are inviting applications from highly experienced values-driven Consultant Psychologists who are committed to becoming part of our multi-professional senior leadership team within Health in Mind team. The role will involve influencing strategic and professional direction to improve access to inclusive, equitable and accessible paediatric psychology and Liaison Psychiatry support to Paediatric patients.

This senior role includes providing professional and clinical leadership to the team, influencing organisational thinking in relation to the delivery of psychologically informed health care, and strategic planning of highly specialist provision of support to medical teams across the Trust. The role involves advising and steering at directorate, executive and board levels on psychological aspects of organisational functioning including the health and wellbeing of our colleagues. You will also be linking into the wider organisation and regional strategy around the professional identity and service development.

The post holder will be joining at a time of exciting change and development in our health in mind team with several opportunities for growth and innovation.

Main duties of the job

Lead the senior management team within the Health in Mind service, bringing expert knowledge and skills and acting as an inspirational leader alongside other senior team members, including Liaison Psychiatry.

To provide specialist mental health services to patients and families accessing regional/national specialist paediatric services across the hospital.
