Main duties of the job

You should be an experienced midwife, able to provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. You will be expected to care for a caseload of women and have good experience and knowledge of safeguarding.

A car and driving license are essential for these roles.

Following the National Maternity review 'Better Births,' it is clear that Continuity of Carer has a positive impact on improving safety, clinical outcomes, as well as a better birth experience for women and their families. Continuity is at the centre of our care here at Birmingham Women's Hospital. Vacancies are available for midwives seeking full time or part time hours. In January 2020 BWH successfully launched our initial Continuity of Carer teams providing team continuity for a small caseload of women providing both low and high risk care. The Continuity of Carer teams work in a way that was developed by midwives for midwives. Our Intrapartum care is covered by an on call service. Our on call model offers flexibility for both women and Midwives.

Competitive on-call rates of pay. A full time midwife can expect to be on a call 1 day and 1 night per week. A 4.5% salary uplift is offered. What's next?
