Are you interested in working in a dynamic and highly valued Paediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology service nestled within a hospital setting?
We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Clinical Psychologists with an interest in Paediatric Neuropsychology. The post willinvolve undertaking some specialist neuropsychological assessments as part of a child's clinical care and delivering psychologically informed psychosocial and neuro-rehabilitation interventions to support young people and their families on their healthcare journey. This posts is linked to our Neuro-oncology service but you may also link in with a number of teams within BWCH including, but not exclusively, Epilepsy Surgery, Inherited Metabolic Disorders, Acquired Brain Injury. The post will also link in with the Health in Mind (Paediatric Psychology) team to deliver assessments, formulation and interventions across the wider hospital.
There will be opportunities to contribute to consultation meetings, MDT meetings, service developments, research, attending Special Interest Groups and working with both inpatients and outpatients. We encourage and are supportive of part time and flexible working.
The post could be appointed either as a preceptorship towards an 8a role for the right applicant wishing to develop from a band 7 or be appointed at 8a. Responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on the provision of neuropsychological assessments to appropriate teams within BCH. The post holder will provide psychological perspectives to psychological care planning in collaboration with other members of a multi-disciplinary team.
The post could be appointed either as a preceptorship towards an 8a role for the right applicant wishing to develop from a band 7 or be appointed at 8a. Responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly. We are able to put a full development plan in place from day one to support applicants wishing to be considered for this post as a preceptorship.
