Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology Department at Birmingham Women's Hospital for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Radiographer to join our dedicated team.
The department is looking to recruit a Band 5 HCPC registered Radiographer. The applicant must be a keen team player who has patient care and image quality high on their agenda. They must have a good knowledge of CR, DR and PACS.
Applicants must have a flexible approach to working hours and will be required to participate in the on call service and work weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
The successful candidate will perform diagnostic radiological examinations on adults and neonates with hospital. They must be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, taking direction from Radiologists, Neonatologists and Gynecologists when necessary. They will assist with fluoroscopic procedures such as hysterosalpingograms and urodynamic studies and must also have some experience in theatre work.
There is the potential for the successful candidate to rotate across both hospital sites and deliver a family focused and user-friendly ultrasound service to women, children, babies and their families.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team that undertakes all diagnostic radiographic procedures within professional scope of practice whilst maintaining accurate records.
To perform imaging examinations at a consistently high technical and professional standard of work, and to evaluate the clinical quality of images produced.
Assess, prioritise and organise own workload within assigned area of work.
Demonstrate levels of responsibility and initiative which supports junior staff and students.
Assist with ultrasound examinations as required.
The role is physically demanding and postholders may occasionally be subject to verbal abuse, often be exposed to body fluids and severely traumatised patients.
Required to participate in a 24/7 service provision and on call as rostered including weekends and Bank Holidays.
Be responsible for own CPD and professional and personal development.
