Job summary

Our dynamic education team are seeking a motivated individual to assist and support us in the delivery of core Education across Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital.

The post holder will work as part of the core education team in providing support across the non-medical education career pathway including the Healthcare support worker programme, Student Nurse Associates, Pre-registration (nursing, midwives and allied health professionals) and will support the transition into a newly qualified practitioner.

This post is based at Birmingham Children's Hospital, flexible working across sites is essential, including Mental Health Services and associated satellite sites.

Main duties of the job

Assist in training sessions across the core education delivery, appropriate to the post holder's skills, knowledge and qualifications.

Facilitate the delivery of training/learning opportunities utilising a range of teaching methods and learning methods to promote active learning e.g. skills stimulation, e-learning and interactive learning.

Assist in the organising of guest speakers/tutors and ensure resources are available as required for teaching sessions.

Assist in ensuring that the learning and working environment is appropriate to programme delivery and development.

Provide pastoral support to learners that require it.

Support the Trust with Quality Assurance of education and delivery.

Work with outside agencies to support education across the Trust such as colleges and higher education institutes.

Assist with learning and education developments across the career framework for all learners. Contribute to the content, delivery and support for all earners including but not limited to:

  • Health Care Support Worker programme
  • Functional skills delivery/support
  • Student Nurse associate training
  • Registered Nurse degree apprenticeships
  • Preceptorship
  • Band 5-8 development
  • Resuscitation
  • Clinical skills and simulation
  • International recruitment education and pastoral support
