Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust have a new role for a Registered Nurse to join our maternity team providing care within our postnatal wards. As a Registered Nurse you would be working alongside our supportive Registered Midwives and multidisciplinary team to ensure that families receive safe, high quality care in the inpatient setting.

Main duties of the job
To deliver high standards of care in partnership with families in a safe and professional environment. You will be part of the Midwifery postnatal team that are responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care in the postnatal period.
The post holder will be expected to contribute towards multi-professional management of care within our postnatal wards. This would include providing routine postnatal care following instrumental birth or caesarean section to enhance recovery and experience, providing support to postnatal women including undertaking maternal and neonatal observations in line with trust policy, administering medicines safely as part of planned medication rounds, management of wound, fluid balance and bladder care, prevention and management of pressure ulcers, support with infant feeding and other duties suitable to the role and grade of the post.
