Job summary
We are looking for clinical, counselling or forensic psychologist to join our citywide Personality and Complex Care (PACT) Team, where we work with young people, (age 14 to 25) who have difficulties regulating their emotions. The team enhance their package of care to the CORE CAMHs Teams across the city (who work with age 0 to 25), when moving between urgent care or inpatient settings and the community. We work with high levels of risk and distress, so it is important to help create thinking spaces in the system to enable the best care for the young people of Birmingham.

Main duties of the job
PACT provides trauma informed care to children and young people with complex and high-risk presentations. It is an enhanced pathway, all our young people have co working teams within FTB including urgent care and we work closely with other agencies such Inpatient services, social care, and education. We offer shorter term stabilisation work to young people with a focus on helping the young people to understand and problem solve using a trauma informed approach. ICON offers bespoke and individualized care based upon formulation of need and the young person's individual goals.
You will manage a small case load and co work with members of the team, offering supervision / line management to more junior psychology staff and maybe peer support workers. You will be part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team who work together to support you; to support the young person using Trauma models and Trauma informed care to offer stabilisation skills using models such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
We also offer some longer-term work to those with complex needs where appropriate, and consultation to other teams within FTB and developing in depth formulations is an important part of the work.
