We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated newly qualified midwives and student midwives qualifying this year, to join our BWC family as a Band 5 Midwife. Our Band 5 posts are rotational 12 month programmes developed by our dedicated Preceptorship Lead Midwives. You will be offered an opportunity to gain experiences throughout our Maternity Service or we are also able to offer the opportunity to work within our Continuity of Care preceptorship which can be discussed further at interview if interested.
You will be allocated a Band 7 line manager for the duration of the programme and will receive peer support 24/7 throughout your preceptorship with our clinical midwifery educators. We have an exciting training programme which includes bespoke sessions to focus on your learning needs as a Newly Qualified Midwife. We actively support you to develop and enhance your skills and maximise your potential in all aspects of midwifery. In addition, we hold regular Band 5 Midwife forums with our Professional Midwifery Advocates and Practice Development team, and our dedicated Preceptorship team will support and guide you to enable progression into a confident and competent Band 6 Midwife at the end of preceptorship.
Main duties of the job
This post if for a Newly Qualified Band 5 midwife or student midwife due to qualify in 2023 to work in a rotational setting, to consolidate clinical midwifery experience, develop professional knowledge, practical and management skills.
