Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse with an interest in orthopaedic oncology and spinal surgery to work within the surgical nursing team on Ward 15 Annex. We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic, and passionate individual with a desire to manage and provide high quality and safe care.
Main duties of the job
This job involves working within a team that specialises in children undergoing surgery for both malignant and benign bone lesions. Working alongside our sister ward we also care for patients undergoing spinal corrective surgery and on occasions elective trauma and orthopaedic patients.
As a band 6 Nurse on the unit you will be responsible for leading a safe shift alongside other registered nurses offering advice and support to care for their patients. The post involves working with the other disciplines within our MDT. You will also be required to assist the ward manager with appraisals and ensure that staff mandatory training and sickness management is kept up to date. You will also be responsible for improving results and compliance in clinical audits.
Experience in working within paediatric surgery is desired, however this is not essential.
