Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 4th Year medical Students at Birmingham Medical School to gain clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in the Emergency Department of Birmingham Children's Hospital.
You will gain experience of carrying out procedures such as phlebotomy, ECG, cannulation, catheterization and urine dip, act as a chaperone supporting patients undergoing examinations or procedures, assisting senior staff in the department with patient management, as well as other duties described in the full job description.
Main duties of the job
You will be employed flexibly to work between 0-37.5 hours per week, with support establishing a rota to fit with your study commitments.
This is the second year of running this programme, with excellent feedback from our outgoing cohort of students as well as from the ED service as a whole.
