Job summary

The department of Blood, Stem Cell and Cancer is looking for a Haemoglobinopathy Clinical Network Coordinator at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. The post is full time and the post holder will provide essential support to the specialist Haemoglobinopathy team and work with local/regional paediatric centres.

Dedicated co-ordination is required working alongside the Network Manager and colleagues from across the Midlands, specialised commissioning and other provider units to further define the development plan and deliver the actions, milestones and objectives for the Haemoglobinopathy Network.

The challenge is to deliver a network that is sustainable with a clear governance structure and service development plan; along with supporting key initiatives within the network, specifically around areas within Haemoglobinopathy.

Main duties of the job

The role is vital to supporting these developments across the region and to ensuring safe and equitable care for our paediatric patients by recording accurate useable patient information, auditing datasets and feeding back on performance. You will work closely with the Network Manager and an experienced haemoglobinopathy team comprising of senior medics, experienced nurses and other supportive staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who relishes a challenge and is keen to use their own initiative, in an extremely busy department. This role is very demanding, and applicants will be self-motivated and have very strong organisational and analytical skills. You must enjoy working within a busy environment and have the ability to analyse the business performance information, work critically with specification documents and highlight any performance issues to a wide variety of audiences.

For any informal enquiries please contact Leah Denver, Haemoglobinopathy Network Manager on Tel: 07342068571 or l.denver@nhs.net
