Job summary

Birmingham Childrens Hospital has a reputation as a centre of excellence providing high quality paediatric care to the local, regional and national population. It is situated in the city centre and there are excellent transport links across the region.

Here at Birmingham Childrens Hospital, we have seen an increase in the number of children and young people with complex health care needs requiring long term respiratory support that are cared for within the trust until their home care packages are set up.

Are you a childrens nurse that would like the opportunity to work with children and young people who require long term respiratory support and have complex health care needs?

If so a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader within our Complex Care Team.

Main duties of the job

If you can deliver quality care to children and young people, then this is your chance to help them enjoy fulfilling lives. Working as part of our dynamic and developing team, you will meet the needs of children requiring complex nursing care in their homes. Planning, coordinating, and providing nursing care on a 24-hour basis youll manage a caseload of patients, train and assess carers, work in partnership with parents and liaise widely with multi-disciplinary colleagues to provide holistic care.

You must be a qualified RN (Child) with at least 2 years post registration experience within high dependency/PICU/rehabilitation/complex care or childrens community care. We are looking for a motivated dynamic individual who has excellent organisational skills who would be able to work in this challenging environment.

You will be provided with an excellent opportunity to further extend you skills in an environment which encourages innovation and evidence-based practice. A comprehensive induction and professional development programme are available.
