Main duties of the job

The Central Referrals Office (CRO) is the central point for all NHS referrals coming into the Royal Marsden Trust. The office deals with both the processing of referrals and queries that arise from new referrals. It checks and processes referral data to ensure the referral information recorded is accurate and complete, and that this is of a high standard of data quality and processed in a timely manner to ensure compliance with government waiting times.

The Central Referrals Office identifies any queries regarding eligibility for NHS Treatment and ensures adherence to the correct process for referrals received from other parts of the UK and countries with which we have a reciprocal agreement.

It establishes and maintains professional relationships with medical secretaries, outpatients, medical staff, and other relevant departments to ensure the needs of the stakeholder are met.

The Deputy Team Leader will support the Team Leader in the day to day coordination and supervision of the teams' work ensuring that all service performance targets are met for a patient's referral pathway
