Job summary
We are pleased to offer an exciting fixed term opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dedicated and dynamic Endoscopy Unit. This position is ideally suited to newly qualified nurses, particularly those who have undertaken a student placement in Endoscopy and are keen to build on their experience within a supportive, high performing team.
About Our UnitOur Endoscopy service provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, delivering safe, high quality care to patients across elective and urgent pathways. You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to maintaining excellent clinical standards, continuous improvement, and patient centred practice.
What We're Looking ForEssential:o Registered Nurse (Adult) with NMC registration (or awaiting registration if newly qualified).o Enthusiasm for developing skills and knowledge in Endoscopy nursing.o A caring, patient focused approach with strong communication skills.o Ability to work effectively within a busy multidisciplinary team.Desirable:o Previous Endoscopy placement experience as a student nurse.o Knowledge of JAG (Joint Advisory Group) standards or an interest in achieving competency within JETS training
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
As a Band 5 Nurse within the Endoscopy Unit, you will:o Assist with the preparation and safe delivery of endoscopic procedures.o Provide high quality, compassionate care before, during, and after procedures.o Support senior staff in maintaining patient safety, infection control, and clinical governance.o Contribute to patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation.o Participate in decontamination processes in line with national guidelines.o Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards.o Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
