Main duties of the job
Our PR and Communications team play a central role in communicating our achievements for the Trust, The Royal Marsden Private Care and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. With an incredibly broad remit, covering both external and internal communications, a suite of magazines, VIP visits and Trust and Charity events, they are responsible for driving a proactive thought leadership agenda, enhancing the reputation of The Royal Marsden as an NHS leader and positioning the hospital at the forefront of worldwide cancer research, treatment and care.
As part of this apprenticeship, you'll work alongside industry experts, contribute to real-world campaigns, and build a repertoire of PR and communications skills that will help launch your career after graduation. Whether it's finding opportunities to promote our work in the media, developing content for our magazines, staff intranet, website and social media, or supporting with high-profile events, you'll be immersed in exciting projects that challenge you creatively and professionally.

To provide entry level support to the PR and Communications team to implement the public relations and external and internal communications strategies for The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, The Royal Marsden Private Care and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
To support the team, under supervision, to raise the external profile and understanding of the work of the Trust, Private Care and Charity, enhance their reputation and promote awareness of their aims and achievements in ways which are appropriate for their different audiences (including patients, families, staff, supporters, governors and members and others within the wider NHS, and the general public).
To assist the PR and Communications team in proactively promoting The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, The Royal Marsden Private Care and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity via national, regional press and social media to drive awareness and support.
