Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Urology Diagnostic Nurse Specialist to join this established team.
The successful applicant will work with the Diagnostic Team to support patients through this expidited pathway. You should have experience in the field of Urology and advanced practice skills including phlebotomy, cannulation, biops or cystoscopy assistance and catheterisationYou should have excellent interpersonal skills and a professional manner, be able to prioritise and organize your workload and work under pressure. You will be expected to work across both our sites (Chelsea and Sutton).

Main duties of the job
The Diagnostic Nurse Specialist (Junior) will place quality at the heart of practice by working with the Nurse-Consultant led Diagnostic Team in delivering evidence based individualised care, through holistic needs assessment, planning and evaluation of care.

Essential
- Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
- First level degree in related subject or prepared to work towards this
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Be willing to undertake Trust CNS role development programme or be able to demonstrate equivalent competencies
- Experience of working in Urology
Desirable
- Level 2 psychological skills training as per recognised course or working towards
- Advanced Communications Skills Training or working towards
- Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant subject
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

- Relevant post registration experience, at Band 5 or above, in urology
