Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ a dynamic forward thinking individual as a Band 5 staff nurse on Horder Ward. Horder ward is an 12 bedded Acute oncology ward caring for patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. Horder ward also cares for palliative patients who have complex symptom control and psychological needs.We are looking for a caring, compassionate and competent nurse who has a specialise interest in palliative care. The ideal candiate is someone who works well under pressure, with excellent time management skills and is dedicated to excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job
1.1.To plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way, which has been drawn up in conjunction with the co-ordinator of the shift1.2. To develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit.1.3. To develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
