Fixed Term Maternity Cover to May 2025.

Full time 37.5 hours a week - Cross site Sutton and Chelsea

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced physiotherapist to join the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder cover the pelvic health service for people experiencing incontinence as a consequence of cancer and its treatment. We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist with a pelvic health background, expertise in bladder and bowel incontinence and an interest in applying these skills to an oncology setting. You will be supported by senior colleagues, with regular supervision and in-service training

Main duties of the job

The Band 7 Physiotherapist takes a lead role, alongside the Band 8a Physiotherapists, to provide a high quality; evidence based physiotherapy service. This Band 7 Physiotherapist will lead the oncology pelvic health service for patients at who have continence problems as a result of their cancer diagnosis or the effects of treatment The post holder will prioritise referrals, co-ordinate appointments, assess patients and provide a service to this patient group including the use of supported self-management strategies and onward referral.

  • Provide advice, support and supervision for designated Band5/ 6 physiotherapists. Supervision with designated band5/ 6s takes the form of formal training, reflective practice and clinical reasoning.

The post holder works closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist input to a planned programme of co-ordinated care including appropriate and timely discharge.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma/degree level qualification in physiotherapy
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or have alternative indemnity arrangements
  • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • Evidence of on-going personal/professional development through maintenance of CPD portfolio
  • Post graduate education in pelvic health, bladder and bowel consequences

Desirable

  • Advanced practice qualifications in pelvic health

Experience

Essential

  • Significant NHS experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge in core physiotherapy skills including respiratory, neurology, orthopaedics, surgical, medical and rehabilitation
  • Experience in gynaecology, colorectal and urology
  • Evidence of high clinical skills in delivering continence interventions
  • Knowledge/Experience in the treatment of patients with cancer
  • Ability to teach skills/knowledge to others in both formal and informal environments
