Band 7 Pre-treatment Therapeutic Radiographer- Sutton site.The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has an international reputation for high quality patient care, education and research and its partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research has created the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring and highly motivated therapy radiographer to work as a Band 7 Team Leader within the Pre-treatment team.The role will include working in all key areas of the Pre-treatment services, which include Mould room, a Siemens Confidence CT scanner, Cannulation and Virtual simulation (Raystation) - much of which is radiographer led. The department has 6 Elekta Linear accelerators, a Radixact unit with another Radixact currently being installed, a Cyberknife and an Elekta MR Linac. Digital patient pathways are managed using the Mosaiq Smart Clinic software throughout the department. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and will have exemplary communication and patient care skills along with strong pre-treatment technical skills and experience. In addition, this role requires someone who is flexible and keen to learn as the role includes developing our multimodality pathways for enhanced planning in a quality driven environment.
Main duties of the job
1.1. When they are working as a Senior I clinical practitioner they will be responsible for the radiotherapy processes at and the operational management of a specialist highly complex radiotherapy work base, which may be a treatment unit, a CT scanner, a treatment preparation area or a project team such as for the digital transformation implementation.1.2. They will supervise their immediate radiographic team to also include students, aides, and visitors on a rotational basis, ensuring that the practise of all results in the output and the radiotherapy processes at their work base being performed accurately and effectively.1.3. The post-holder will liaise with medical, physics, nursing, clerical and support staff within the department and throughout the institution. The key working relationships will be with superintendent radiographers.
