Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Matron of our Children and Young People (CYP) service. This post will have the opportunity to directly influence and improve the care of patients as part of an CQC rated Outstanding Trust.The Matron role is to provide professional and clinical leadership for all the CYP staff, ensuring the delivery of patient focussed high quality standards of care are delivered to ensure patient safety and a positive patient experience, supporting the delivery of national and local strategic and operational service objectives.We are looking for a dynamic, energised individual who will be excited to be part of our wider MDT. We want someone with a focus on embedding a cohesive culture around quality and safety. As the CYP Matron, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the highest standards of care are provided to patients. You will be responsible for overseeing the clinical delivery of care, supporting and developing nursing staff, and contributing to the overall management and strategic direction of our department.This could also be a fantastic development opportunity and welcome applications from those looking to develop into the role and will consider those that wish to start as an 8a and progress to the full 8b role. Main duties of the job
- To provide effective, visible and accessible clinical leadership and operational management to Oak Centre for Children and Young People (OCCYP).
- Monitor and maintaining professional nursing standards, to ensure the care environment is clean, safe and protects the privacy and dignity of children and young people with cancer.
- To act as part of the OCCYP management team, working collaboratively with the Clinical Divisional Nurse Director (CDND), Clinical Lead and the Clinical Business Unit (CBU) manager to assure the Executive Team and Trust Board that robust systems of governance and performance management are in place to deliver high quality child/young person and family centred care and services for children and young people with cancer.
- Support with the effective and efficient use of resources, both manpower and financial, in order to deliver high quality, evidence based services
