Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Deputy SBS Account Manager reporting directly to the SBS Account Manager.

The post holder will lead the team in the following within the Finance Directorate and in the wider organisation, responsible for Accounts Payable/Receivable, Treasury Management & Cashiers. This includes bank reconciliations online banking and ensuring bank mandates are kept up to date.

We are a small dynamic team and with the objective of delivering a 'right first time' service, with a customer focus.

The post holder will gain a variety of experience including the opportunity to influence change and strengthen financial control within the Royal Marsden NHSFT.

The successful candidate is likely to have a background in finance have experiences in a similar role, be able to manage staff working with computerised systems and be able to use Microsoft Office. Be flexible and be able to work on their own as well as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage the performance of the Accounts Payable (IQM), Accounts Receivables Officer and the cashiers at the London and Sutton sites.
  • To act as the primary point of contact with NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) for all Treasury and Cash management services and AP services.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that AP queries are dealt with on a timely manner and manage Sales Order and Credit memos queries.
  • Reconcile the Private Patients' and other Lloyds PLC bank accounts.

  • Advanced ECDL qualification or be able to demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Minimum three years of experience in a Finance department in a Financial Accounting or Accounts Receivable/Treasury role

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of NHS accounting practice and procedures
  • Good understanding of financial accounting including an awareness of the interrelationship between balance sheet, income and expenditure accounts and cashflow statements
