Job summary
The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre specialising in cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education. In partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research we are one of the largest comprehensive cancer centres in Europe, seeing and treating over 60,000 NHS and private patients each year.
We are looking for an inspirational Head of Marketing to lead a highly talented in-house marketing team. You will bring first class marketing skills and extensive expertise ideally from healthcare or the commercial sector, to enable the Trust and The Royal Marsden Private Care to achieve their strategic and business objectives, whilst supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to drive brand awareness. You will be instrumental in promoting both the Trust's and Private Care's image and reputation as a world leader in oncology.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in marketing at a senior level with exceptional leadership and team building skills, a confident communicator, as well as someone who is motivational, energetic and determined.

Main duties of the job
Together with the Director of Marketing and Communications, develop and manage the implementation of The Royal Marsden's Trust, Private Care, School and BRC marketing strategies ensuring that they support the overall business strategy, establishing The Royal Marsden's position as a thought leader whilst driving commercial targets and managing costs.
Alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications act as the brand guardian for The Royal Marsden and its associated sub brands. Lead the development and roll-out of the brand across the organisation.
Inspire and lead the marketing team to offer a first-class creative service that constantly delivers above expectations and offer marketing consultancy and expertise to business partners across all areas of the Trust, Private Care, School, BRC and Charity

- To have relevant experience managing and developing a marketing team with at least three direct reports
- To have managed a variety of third-party agencies, including agency pitch, selection and appointment
- Proven track record of leading marketing programmes and campaigns - from initial brief to implementation and review
- Proven track record specifically of direct and though the line marketing and brand management
- Experience in all elements of the marketing mix - including advertising, media, direct and digital channels
