Job summary

We are looking for a registered Allied Health Professional (AHP) to work on a project to support the recruitment and retention of AHPs in the SWL community. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with allied health professionals and partners across the SW London Integrated Care System.

As a core member of the AHP Faculty, you will carry out a project to investigate the cost of living challenges faced by Band 5 AHPs and AHP Support Workers in SWL. You will gather the views of B5 AHPs and Support Workers and participate in the co-design of a plan for interventions that may support them with their cost of living and encourage them to stay working in SWL.

Ideally you will have project management experience but this is not essential as you will be fully supported by the Faculty Chair and Lead. This is a development role and you will be encouraged to take advantage of the learning opportunities this post presents.

The post is 2 days a week over 4 months hosted by the Royal Marsden Hospital but you will work with organisations across SW London. You will require the support of your manager to make an application and can be a secondment. This is a home-based role. It will involve remote working via Teams, regular meetings at the Sutton site of Royal Marsden Hospital and occasional travel to organisations across SW London.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with the SWL AHP Faculty Lead, the project manager, and AHPs band 5s and Support Workers across SWL, to support a co-production project, to understand the impact of the high cost of living on lower band AHPs and gather ideas on how providers can help their staff through this difficult period. This co-production project will be in collaboration and partnership with the SWL AHP leads for providers and also the Human Resources department within the Royal Marsden for the providers to ensure alignment with the workforce strategy and inititiaves. The post holder will be responsible for organising the focus group meetings to bring relevant parties and leads together, the recording of meetings and gathering of data from this meetings. Small group meetings with lower band staff will also be supported and organised by the post holder. In addition, the post holder will assist in the creation of a report, and videos as decided by project leads to deliver to the providers and to the SWL AHP council chair.

This role entails remote working and conducting meetings via Teams as well as regularly working at the Sutton site and occasional travel to organisations across south west London (SWL). Additionally it will involve building relationships and establishing a network of contacts to engage with as part of this project.
