Band 2 Radiotherapy Aide (Chelsea)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who thrives on working in a busy patient facing role and who wants to join our friendly and hardworking team of Radiotherapy Aides.
This role is relied on by the radiotherapy team to primarily perform administration, clerical and reception duties as well as ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for the patients attending Radiotherapy. This role also requires you to be an approachable and engaged 'first face' for our patients as appropriate throughout the radiotherapy pathway.
We are looking for an efficient and organised person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will also be IT literate with an interest in working in a healthcare and technology driven environment.

Main duties of the job
- To carry out in a responsible and efficient way the provision of reception duties & clerical support to the radiotherapy department.
- Provide patient support as appropriate to assist the patient pathway.
- Be able to work flexible hours to support effective service provision.

These responsibilities will be carried out under the guidance of the superintendent radiographers.
Clinical Responsibility
- Provide friendly and professional reception of patients and their escorts.
- Record the attendance of patients in the appointment system.
- Make bookings for radiotherapy treatments in collaboration with the radiographic staff.
- Arrange patients appointments and provide summary and assist in arranging hospital transport and outpatient clinic appointments as required.
- Contact clinical specialists and doctors as directed by radiographers and nursing staff.
- Greet visitors to department and make contact as appropriate.
- To appraise the superintendent radiographer of stock levels for routine supplies and consumables and complete purchase orders for approval as necessary.
Education and Development Responsibility own as well as the development of others
- Participate in appraisal process by considering objectives and record own development as part of PDP
- Attend mandatory training as required.
Management and Leadership Responsibility
- Assist in the induction of new staff
- Provide cover for colleagues as necessary to support the needs of the radiotherapy service.
Clinical Governance
- Adhere to and assist in maintenance of ISO documentation by ensuring updated versions of any documents are circulated correctly as requested.
