Job summary

The basic salary is £38,831 to £73,992 per annum.

Additional allowances will be paid based on rostered hours and the frequency of your participation on the rota. The Trust is compliant with the European Working Time Directive.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for the day-to-day care of laparoscopic colorectal patients under the care of 2 consultant surgeons.

The department has a particular interest in laparoscopic pelvic resections. The fellow will take part in the out of hours on call rota only

Full-time including participation in a full shift rota system working 1:8 weekday, 1:8 Weekends

Operating Lists, Outpatient clinics, multi-disciplinary meetings, Ward care of laparoscopic post-operative patients and colonoscopy lists.

The clinical duties of the post include the following:

Operating Lists, Outpatient clinics, multi-disciplinary meetings, Ward care of laparoscopic post-operative patients and colonoscopy lists.

The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with their colleagues, both senior and junior. While it has been agreed between the professions that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptions and you should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
