Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist with a passion for emergency care to join our clinical pharmacist team at University Hospitals Sussex. This role is for the lead pharmacist for our Emergency Department at St Richards Hospital. The successful candidate will be engaged in actively reviewing patients in ED and will have close contact with clinical teams to help provide excellent standards of care. We seek a clinically experienced pharmacist with a passion to develop skills in this area. As a senior member of the Trust clinical pharmacy team, you will be an integral part of the pharmacy department and help support and promote our pharmacy and clinical strategies.
We are a department that seeks to be a pioneer with the use of technology with a rollout of electronic prescribing coming soon to our ED departments.

Main duties of the job
To provide pharmacy leadership and development of specialist clinical pharmacy services to the Emergency Department (ED) at St Richards Hospital.
The post holder will be a key member of both the pharmacy and emergency department teams, supporting the Pharmacist Team Leader - Clinical - Medicine to ensure that a high quality patient orientated clinical pharmacy service is developed and provided to the EDs within the Trust.
On a day to day basis the post holder will provide a clinical pharmacy service to patients attending the ED, using independent prescribing (IP) skills as required if available.
