Job summary

We are looking for a Theatre Administrator who will be responsible for providing an effective and welcoming reception service for patients, relatives and other visitors attending the Day Surgery Unit.

The successful candidate will need to be able to to facilitate a smooth process of patient greeting, checking in, and supporting in the preparation for operations. The post holder will work as part of the Day Surgery reception team to support and contribute to a caring and efficient service

Job responsibilities

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. Responsible for clerical duties including meeting and greeting patients, visitors, and staff in person and via telephone. To provide comprehensive and effective administrative support to the Day Surgery Unit, troubleshooting and problem solving as required, with occasional ad hoc support to the main theatre reception.

To provide admin support to theatres, ensuring an efficient implementation of patient pathways, patient care, and post-operative appointment arrangement.

To provide occasional pastoral care to patients and relatives when needed.

Participate in other administrative activities alongside management and other senior colleagues as appropriate.

To ensure that patient pathways are handled accurately, inputting patient confidential information accurately and promptly on various Trust systems. Reception cover in the theatre department, and any other administrative duties required.

The post requires a self-motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team.
