Rota and Metal on Metal Co-ordinator

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rota and Metal on Metal Co-ordinator to work within the Musculoskeletal Directorate, based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic person to work in conjunction with the Lead Rota and Patient Access Co-ordinator to ensure the maintenance of a high-quality, effective and flexible centralised electronic rota for medical staff across sites, and ensure efficient functioning of the Directorate medical cover.

Excellent organisational and solid IT skills are essential to ensure the rota for medical staff is up to date, accurate and disseminated electronically.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will ensure full on-call rota cover, escalating any uncovered shifts, and review the rotas and processes on an on-going basis. You will use monitoring systems for the collection, recording and use of annual, sickness, educational and professional leave for medical staff. You will also be involved in training and development on the rota and co-ordinating the cancellation of clinical duties/organising locum cover. Within this role you will also provide administrative oversight on the Metal on Metal project (MoM). MoM is a national recall programme for all patients who were fitted with a particular type of hip implant which needs close monitoring, through regular blood testing and consultant review, and you will be the point of contact for patients and their relatives ensuring they have timely review adhering to MHRA guidelines.

This varied and interesting post is offered on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator and team member, as well as being able to work unsupervised in a busy environment. You will need to be confident, self-motivated and be flexible and adaptable to meet service needs.
